Two days ago, June 21, 2020 was Father’s Day in the UK. Mommy and Izzy gave a little surprise to Daddy as we arrived at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. In fact, they also surprised me with the writing on the room window (more on this later).
Dua hari yang lalu, 21 Juni 2020 adalah Hari Ayah di Inggris. Mommy dan Izzy memberi sedikit kejutan pada Daddy ketika kami tiba di Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. Bahkan, mereka juga mengejutkan saya dengan tulisan di jendela kamar (lebih lanjut tentang ini nanti).
In the morning, a few hours before we left for staycation, I called the hotel reception to inquire whether they could provide a little complimentary cake for Daddy Bear or not, since it was Father’s Day. They said they will try to accommodate my request. When we arrived in our hotel room which was around 1 PM (They allowed us to check-in early, Yay!), we were mesmerized by their enchanting lobby, were welcomed by their friendly staff, and when we entered our room, we had a slice of a pretty, yummy cake that was plated on a white plate with “Happy Father’s Day” written in it with chocolate. But, the first thing that cought our eyes was the colorful greetings on the window. I was like “Wow!”. We really appreciated their effort.
Di pagi hari, beberapa jam sebelum kami pergi untuk staycation, saya menelepon bagian penerima tamu hotel untuk menanyakan apakah mereka bisa menyediakan kue gratis untuk Daddy Bear atau tidak, karena itu adalah Hari Ayah. Mereka mengatakan akan mencoba mengakomodasi permintaan saya. Ketika kami tiba di kamar hotel kami yang mana waktu itu sekitar jam 1 siang (mereka mengizinkan kami untuk check-in lebih awal, Yay!), kami terpesona dengan lobi mereka yang memikat, disambut oleh staf yang ramah, dan ketika kami memasuki kamar kami, kami mendapatkan sepotong kue yang cantik enak, yang diletakkan di atas piring putih dengan "Happy Father's Day" tertulis di dalamnya dengan cokelat. Tapi, hal pertama yang menarik perhatian kami adalah ucapan berwarna-warni di jendela. Saya seperti "Wow!". Kami sangat menghargai upaya mereka.

1. The Room:
Layout and Interior: 5/5 - 68 m²/732 ft². It was a perfect, beautiful layout and interior design: they use carpet on most of the floor, except the bathroom and the closet area. We loved our room, no complaint at all. Izzy loved the exotic wallpaper in the lounge area!
The View: 5/5 - City view, river view, swimming pool view from the 12th floor. It was not as high as our apartment view, but no problem. We basically got all the best views since our room was in the corner and faced 3 different directions. It was particularly nice at night.
1. Ruangan:
Tata ruang dan bagian dalamnya: 5/5 - 68 m²/732 ft². Itu adalah tata letak dan desain interior yang indah, sempurna: mereka menggunakan karpet di sebagian besar lantai, kecuali kamar mandi dan area lemari. Kami menyukai kamar kami, tidak ada keluhan sama sekali. Izzy menyukai wallpaper eksotis di area lounge!
Pemandangannya: 5/5 - Pemandangan kota, pemandangan sungai, pemandangan kolam renang dari lantai 12. Tidak setinggi pemandangan apartemen kami, tapi tidak masalah. Kami pada dasarnya mendapat semua pemandangan terbaik karena kamar kami berada di sudut dan menghadapi 3 arah yang berbeda. Itu sangat bagus di malam hari.
Bathroom: 5/5 - One word: luxurious! I love the double sink, the big head shower and the fancy bath tub. What a beautiful bathroom, and all was covered by the grey and white marble.
Kamar Mandi: 5/5 - Satu kata: mewah! Saya suka wastafel ganda, pancuran besar dan bak mandi mewah. Kamar mandi yang indah, dan semuanya ditutupi oleh marmer abu-abu dan putih.
Toiletries: 5/5 - The liquid packaging was nice, all black and they put them in a plastic pocket. We liked that they also provided a free white brush, which was useful. The bathrobe was comfy, the slippers were okay. We got what we needed!
Perlengkapan Mandi: 5/5 - Kemasan cairannya bagus, semuanya hitam dan dimasukkan ke dalam kantongan plastik. Kami menyukai bahwa mereka juga menyediakan sisir sikat putih gratis, yang bermanfaat. Jubah mandinya nyaman, sandalnya oke-oke saja. Kami mendapatkan apa yang kami butuhkan!
Room Service: 4.5/5 - We brought our lunch from home (Daddy’s cooking), and ordered mashed potatoes and fries as additional sides, plus empty bowls where we can put our food. Later we also ordered in-room dining. The food was quite pricey, but they were all delicious. I really enjoyed my tuna salad, although my original order was chicken ceasar salad, but they called us to inform us that the ingredients were out of stock, and offered their Tuna salad instead. I agreed, and I didn’t regret it! It was so tasty! Daddy and Izzy also enjoyed the lasagna. We also had additional mixed veggies, and plated mixed fruits as dessert.
Servis Kamar: 4.5/5 - Kami membawa makan siang kami dari rumah (masakan Daddy), dan memesan kentang tumbuk dan kentang goreng sebagai sisi tambahan, ditambah mangkuk kosong di mana kami bisa menaruh makanan kami. Kemudian kami juga memesan makan malam di kamar. Makanannya cukup mahal, tetapi semuanya lezat. Saya sangat menikmati salad tuna saya, meskipun pesanan asli saya adalah salad ayam ceasar, tetapi mereka menelpon kami untuk memberitahu kami bahwa bahan-bahannya sudah habis, dan menawarkan salad tuna mereka. Saya setuju, dan saya tidak menyesalinya! Itu sangat lezat! Daddy dan Izzy juga menikmati lasagna. Kami juga memiliki tambahan sayuran campuran, dan buah-buahan campur di piring sebagai makanan penutup.
2. Amenities:
Swimming Pool: 4/5 - It was a nice pretty pool, love the trees around it, and the intriguing statues. Sadly, the pool wasn’t the cleanest. Daddy found a piece of plastic under his foot, and we also noticed that the water wasn’t clean, although we were the only people there. They have been limiting the guests so that only 8 people can be in the pool area at any time. Maybe they were just not done cleaning them, as I saw someone was trying to get something which I assumed was leaves with the skimmer net from the surface of the pool, but he stopped when we came in.
2. Fasilitas:
Kolam Renang: 4/5 - Itu adalah kolam renang yang cantik, cinta deh dengan pohon-pohon di sekitarnya, dan patung-patung yang menarik. Sayangnya, kolam itu bukan yang terbersih. Daddy menemukan selembar plastik di bawah kakinya, dan kami juga memperhatikan bahwa airnya tidak bersih, walaupun kami satu-satunya orang di sana. Mereka telah membatasi para tamu sehingga hanya 8 orang yang bisa berada di area kolam kapan saja. Mungkin mereka belum selesai membersihkannya, karena saya melihat seseorang mencoba untuk mendapatkan sesuatu yang saya duga adalah dedaunan dengan jaring skimmer dari permukaan kolam, tetapi dia berhenti ketika kami masuk.
Gym: 4.5/5 - It seemed nice and well-equiped. We didn’t get the chance to try it though. It looked clean, yet empty.
Ruang Olahraga: 4.5/5 - Tampaknya bagus dan dilengkapi dengan baik. Kami tidak mendapatkan kesempatan untuk mencobanya. Itu tampak bersih, namun kosong.
Breakfast: 5/5 - During this COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel gave us two different options whether we want to have our breakfast in our room (we can order via Whatsapp or their application), or in the Palm Court restaurant, with limited guests. We chose to go down and experiece it ourselves. They had set menus selections: Western food, and Asian food. I ordered Granola, Egg Benedict and Soto Ayam, all were yummy! Daddy opted for the Pancakes, Sweet Bread Selection, and then Mie Goreng! All were delicious too, and Izzy demolished her oatmeal and fresh berries. Even though it was a set menu, you could order as much as you wanted!
Sarapan Pagi: 5/5 - Selama pandemi COVID-19 ini, hotel memberi kami dua pilihan berbeda apakah kami ingin sarapan di kamar kami (kami dapat memesan melalui Whatsapp atau aplikasi mereka), atau di restoran Palm Court, dengan tamu terbatas. Kami memilih untuk turun dan mengalaminya sendiri. Mereka telah menetapkan pilihan menu: makanan Barat, dan makanan Asia. Saya memesan Granola, Egg Bennedict dan Soto Ayam, semuanya lezat! Daddy memilih Panekuk, Seleksi Roti Manis, dan kemudian Mie Goreng! Semuanya lezat juga, dan Izzy menghancurkan oatmeal dan buah beri segar. Meskipun itu adalah set menu, kamu dapat memesan sebanyak yang kamu inginkan!
3. Location: 5/5 - Very strategic. Close to everything including our own place. Not too far from the Business District, and in front of the Inner Ring Road.
4. Overall service: 5/5 - All the staff were very nice, they also speak good English. They even called our name when they thanked us. It is worth noting here that all hotel interactions, besides the mandatory ones, were done through the Four Seasons App. You order your in-room dining through it, and can even request additional stuff, like water or mouthwash. There is even a chat function, although the hotel also had a dedicated Whatsapp chat. They took all precautions possible against the virus. We were very impressed.
5. Value: 5/5 - For what we paid, it was totally worth it! We got one of the best rooms half price.
3. Lokasi: 5/5 - Sangat strategis. Dekat dengan segala sesuatu termasuk tempat kita sendiri. Tidak terlalu jauh dari Distrik Bisnis, dan di depan tol Lingkar-dalam.
4. Servis Secara Keseluruhan: 5/5 - Semua staf sangat baik, mereka juga berbicara bahasa inggris dengan baik. Mereka bahkan memanggil nama kami ketika mereka mengucapkan terima kasih. Perlu dicatat di sini bahwa semua interaksi hotel, selain yang wajib, dilakukan melalui Aplikasi Four Seasons. Kamu memesan santapan di dalam kamar kamu melalui itu, dan bahkan dapat meminta hal-hal tambahan, seperti air atau obat kumur. Bahkan ada fungsi obrolan, meskipun hotel juga memiliki obrolan Whatsapp khusus. Mereka mengambil semua tindakan pencegahan yang mungkin dilakukan terhadap virus. Kami sangat terkesan.
5. Harga: 5/5 - Untuk apa yang kami bayar, itu sangat sepadan! Kami mendapat salah satu kamar terbaik dengan setengah harga.
Anyway, every room is deep-cleaned and disinfectanted 2 days before any guests stay, said the receptionist. They kept our room empty for at least two days. We were so impressed with their excellent service, in every aspect. Daddy said it’s the best hotel for him so far. No wonder.
Ngomong-ngomong, setiap kamar dibersihkan dan didisinfektan 2 hari sebelum tamu menginap, kata resepsionis. Mereka membiarkan kamar kami kosong setidaknya selama dua hari. Kami sangat terkesan dengan layanan luar biasa mereka, dalam setiap aspek. Daddy bilang itu hotel terbaik untuknya sejauh ini. Memang pantas.
Now we are back in our home. We will continue our self-quarantine again. Alright then, keep wearing our mask wherever we go, wash our hands often, keep physical distancing with other people. Stay happy and healthy everyone! Virtual xo.
Sekarang kami kembali ke rumah kami. Kami akan melanjutkan karantina sendiri lagi. Baiklah, terus pakai masker kita kemana pun kita pergi, sering-seringlah cuci tangan, jaga jarak fisik dengan orang lain. Tetap bahagia dan sehat semuanya! cium peluk virtual.
