We stayed there during peak season, that was why the price went up so much. We also got lucky with our free upgrade, which probably should’ve been way more. This price is for the room we booked, not the one we got. It was even way more expensive on New Year’s eve: 4 times more than the price we paid. That was why we moved to Brooklyn on our 3rd day. We also preferred to travel to DC on Dec 31 and celebrated the New Year there.
Let’s talk about W Hotel Times Square! We arrived at noon at the hotel, and I was amazed by the watery ceiling on the ground floor, just after we entered the main entrance: it gave a wave illusion on the floor. So brilliant! We had to take the elevator to get to the main lobby, which was on the 7th floor. The elegant lobby was super busy, but the staff who welcomed us were still very friendly, helpful, and they served us patiently and with a smile. They even moved us up ten floors and gave us a fantastic view because we were en-route to our anniversary! As Daddy sorted out the check-in, Mommy and Izzy waited on the sofa. I really loved their waiting area. Too bad I didn’t take any pictures of it, it will be on our vlog though.

Kami tiba di siang hari di hotel, dan saya kagum dengan langit-langit berair di lantai dasar, tepat setelah kami memasuki pintu masuk utama: itu memberi ilusi ombak di lantai. Sangat brilian! Kami harus naik lift untuk sampai ke lobi utama, yang berada di lantai 7. Lobi yang elegan sangat sibuk, tetapi staf yang menyambut kami masih sangat ramah, membantu, dan mereka melayani kami dengan sabar dan sambil tersenyum. Mereka bahkan memindahkan kami sepuluh lantai ke atas dan memberi kami pemandangan yang fantastis karena kami sedang dalam perjalanan menuju hari ulang tahun pernikahan kami! Ketika Daddy membereskan check-in, Mommy dan Izzy menunggu di sofa. Saya benar-benar mencintai ruang tunggu mereka. Sayang sekali saya tidak memotretnya, nanti itu akan ada di vlog kami.

We were lucky that they let us to have early check-in, at 1 PM, as well as a free upgrade! Rather than a city view and smaller room on the 34th floor, we got bumped up to a double view room, Hudson river and Times Square view on the 43rd! Lucky or what?! Plus, we could shower and rest in our room before going out to check Times Square in the evening. So convenient!
Kami beruntung mereka mengizinkan kami untuk check-in lebih awal, pada jam 1 siang, serta upgrade gratis! Alih-alih pemandangan kota dan kamar yang lebih kecil di lantai 34, kami malah dipindahkan ke lantai 43 dengan pemandangan ganda, pemandangan sungai Hudson dan Times Square! Beruntung atau apa ya?! Ditambah lagi, kita dapat mandi dan beristirahat di kamar kami sebelum pergi untuk melihat Times Square di malam hari. Sangat nyaman!

Kami tinggal di sana selama musim puncak, itu sebabnya harganya naik sangat banyak. Kami juga beruntung dengan upgrade gratis kami, yang mungkin seharusnya jauh lebih mahal. Harga ini untuk kamar yang kami pesan, bukan yang kami dapatkan. Harga kamarnya bahkan jauh lebih mahal pada malam Tahun Baru: 4 kali lebih banyak dari harga yang kami bayarkan. (+) The view was the best! The location is in the heart of Times Square (Downtown Manhattan), posh area. It was close to everything.

I realized that all of the hotels we stayed in the States did not provide any toothbrushes. I think it’s because they are eco-friendly hotels. Therefore, they did not provide the single-use plastic stuff (e.g. toothbrush, shower cap). Just like our hotels in Sydney from our last trip.
(+) Pemandangan adalah yang terbaik! Lokasi berada di jantung Times Square (Downtown Manhattan), area mewah. Itu dekat dengan segalanya.

We did not experience the hotel food whatsoever, even their in-room dining, as we often do. We checked the in-room dining menu, one portion of spaghetti would cost us $32 (exclude the tax and tip), but no guarantee that the taste would be delish. Nah, thanks! We thought it was better to order food from UberEats. We also had some street food nearby our hotel, and we went out to eat at the restaurants that have high ratings on TripAdvisor. As for the W hotel breakfast menu, I called the hotel reception to check whether they have buffet menu for breakfast or not, if they do, we would like to pay. Turned out they don’t do buffets either. Never mind then.

Sedangkan untuk menu sarapan hotel W, saya menelepon resepsionis hotel untuk memeriksa apakah mereka memiliki menu prasmanan untuk sarapan atau tidak, jika mereka memilikinya, kami ingin membayar. Ternyata mereka juga tidak melakukan prasmanan. Kalau memang demikian, ya lupakan saja.
If you travel with your partner without kids, I suggest you to check out their bar. It looked nice! The bar was next to the waiting area and the lobby, it was on the same 7th floor. Speaking of the 7th floor, their disco ball Christmas tree and arty walls also got my attention. Loved them! x

Jika kamu bepergian dengan pasangan tanpa anak, saya sarankan kamu untuk memeriksa bar mereka. Bar-nya terlihat bagus! Bar berada di sebelah ruang tunggu dan lobi, berada di lantai 7 yang sama. Berbicara tentang lantai 7, pohon natal bola-bola disko dan dinding seni juga menarik perhatian saya. Cinta mereka deh! x
