Izzy, Daddy and I are in Cisarua, Bogor, with my brother’s family. Too bad that my younger sister, her husband and their daughter, could not join us this time, because of their workload. It’s good to finally got the chance to do a little sweet escape with family out of Jakarta though. It’s the precious fresh air and the view we have been craving! We have been staying at the Grand Hill hotel for 3D2N, and today is our last day before checking out. I will share about our Bogor trip from day 1 in this writing.
We started with the Safari Tour in our own vehicle. It took around 45 minutes in that area. We rented an Elf minibus from Jakarta with a driver for a day that fit all of us together in one car, plus it has 4 windows that Izzy, and her cousins could use when they fed the animals. That was actually why we chose the minibus Elf to get to Bogor on our first day, as not all the minibuses or minivans have windows that could be opened.
We fed the deers, monkeys, and camels. We just found out a fun fact, that monkeys also peel and throw away the banana skin before they eat the bananas. We thought they eat them with its skin. Ha!
After the Safari Tour, we took a break and had our lunch in the mini-bus. My brother’s mother-in-law cooked for us, and they brought her home cooking, which I always like, plus Mcdonalds food for everyone to choose. I definitely chose the home cooking. We then walked up through the hills to visit the other animals. It was what they called the Safari Trek & Outbond.
The saltwater crocodiles were sleeping when we visited them. We took a picture of the biggest one, it was around 3.3m long! It was not Izzy’s first zoo experience, as we have been to the zoo in Bali, and the one in Sydney, Australia. But I guess this one will be more memorable for Izzy as she is a bit bigger now. We walked quite a lot on that day, around 9000 steps. Izzy seemed to enjoy the walk as well, although daddy and I carried her sometimes. It was some kind of workout for us too. Walking on the hills with almost 12kg weight, plus bags. Ha!
We decided to end our zoo trip, and went straight to the hotel to check in. It was around 4 PM, luckily the hotel is located only around 15 minutes from Taman Safari Indonesia.
Day 2 | March 10, 2021
I had been to that restaurant once before, however it was around 6 years ago, and that was for early dinner, therefore I couldn’t really enjoy the view back then. This time we spent like one and a half hours at the restaurant for lunch. We were not that hungry, as we had our breakfast at the hotel and some bread during the trip to the restaurant, but we all ordered some lunch anyway.
We also ordered the Cimory famous fresh milk and their local ice cream, Moo Moo Gelato ice cream. If I’m not mistaken, my drink was called Banana Fresh Milk with Taro Jelly, daddy’s was Banana Fresh Milk, Izzy’s drink was her favorite Chocolate fresh milk.
Daddy Bear really enjoyed their ice cream, he even bought the Moo Moo Gelato ice cream twice. It was yum!
After we finished our food, Izzy, Daddy and I went straight into the BigBird. I just did not feel like sitting in the restaurant for too long. It was busy. As I sat down, my sister-in-law texted me, asking me whether we want to join them or not. They were planning to check around. I did not know that Cimory Riverside also has a mini zoo and aquarium. Ha! Daddy and I had a quick discussion, and yes! Might as well check them out.
We started with the Monster Aquarium. Mommy and Daddy experienced the tiny fishes that bite our hands, Izzy refused to do so. After we finished with the Aquarium. We then walked across Cimory’s bridge: Izzy was so brave that she walked across that swinging bridge by herself. Then it was Forest Walk time, then Mini Zoo time! We are allowed to pet and feed the animals there.
We went to Cimory outlet to exchange our free coupons for 3 mini yogurts, which we received when we bought the enterance tickets. It’s time to go back to our lovely Jakarta. See you when we see you, Bogor! It was definitely a sweet escape for our family. We also enjoyed our trip in the BigBird, it was so comfy.

We left Jakarta around 7 in the morning, and it took around one and a half hours until we reached our first destination, Taman Safari Indonesia. As we passed by, I noticed that the local people in Bogor don’t really wear masks on the road or by the road. Well, at least from what I’ve seen, there were more people who don’t wear it than the ones who wear it. We stopped by the road to buy some veggies and fruits for the animals. My younger sister-in-law was the one who interacted with the local seller through the window, and the driver helped us to collect the carrots and bananas.
Taman Safari Indonesia
As we entered the first gate of Taman Safari Indonesia, we were welcomed by 2 members of staff who wore hazmat suits. They were ready to check our body temperature through the window, and the other one was spraying the mini bus we rented with sanitizing spray. At the main gate, another member of staff welcomed us, and counted the total of us. It was the main gate where we bought the entrance tickets. The weekday tickets were 195,000 IDR for the age above 6 years old, and 170,000 for under 5 years old.

The last attraction we visited was the Giant Panda area. We took a special bus for visitors to get to the top. We sat down for a while, enjoying the view while eating and drinking at the restaurant in the same building as the Panda place.

The Grand Hill Hotel
As we entered the hotel premises, we were dropped off at the lobby. The hotel bell boys helped us to take our belongings out of the rented Elf Mini Bus. My sister-in-law and I went to the receptionist to deal with our hotel rooms’ payment. Our room and their 2 rooms were on the same, highest floor (6th). Our last day in Bogor, we checked out from the hotel around 12:15 PM. We were picked up by our rented Bigbird, and it took us to our last ‘touristy’ destination. We visited a well-known local restaurant for lunch before heading back to Jakarta.
Cimory Riverside
Cimory is the abbreviation for Cisarua Mountain Dairy. This place is located in Cisarua, Bogor, and they sell many variants of fresh dairy milk (I occasionally buy their yogurts and milk in Jakarta!). They actually have 2 different family restaurants that offer two different views: Cimory Mountain View, and Cimory Riverside. We decided to visit the Riverside one. It has a market and a big restaurant by the Ciliwung river. Both the market and restaurant were quite busy when we arrived. The good thing was that we (the visitors) still had to check our body temprature before entering the building. I also noticed that they placed a hand sanitizer dispenser in the front lobby, next to the body temprature machine. It seemed like many people were arriving in Bogor from Jakarta for the long weekend. At least, all the people there were wearing masks too. *fingers crossed*

We walked back into the building and took the stairs down. There was an outlet, a playground, and a booth to buy the entrance tickets. We paid 35,000 IDR per person for the Cimory Forest Walk (Mini Zoo and Forest Trip) & MonsterAquarium entry tickets. It was 105,000 IDR in total for three. We went to Cimory outlet to exchange our free coupons for 3 mini yogurts, which we received when we bought the enterance tickets. It’s time to go back to our lovely Jakarta. See you when we see you, Bogor! It was definitely a sweet escape for our family. We also enjoyed our trip in the BigBird, it was so comfy.

Izzy, daddy dan saya berada di Cisarua, Bogor, bersama keluarga adik laki-laki saya. Sayang sekali adik perempuan saya, suami dan anak perempuannya, tidak dapat bergabung dengan kami kali ini, karena beban pekerjaan mereka. Senang rasanya akhirnya mendapat kesempatan untuk melakukan sedikit liburan manis bersama keluarga di luar Jakarta. Udara segar yang berharga dan pemandangan yang selama ini kami dambakan! Kami telah menginap di hotel Grand Hill selama 3H2M, dan hari ini adalah hari terakhir kami sebelum check out. Saya akan membagikan tentang perjalanan Bogor kami dari hari pertama di tulisan ini.

Kami meninggalkan Jakarta sekitar jam 7 pagi, dan butuh waktu sekitar satu setengah jam hingga kami mencapai tujuan pertama kami, Taman Safari Indonesia. Saat kami lewat, saya perhatikan bahwa penduduk Bogor tidak terlalu memakai masker di jalan atau di jalan. Setidaknya dari apa yang saya lihat, ada lebih banyak orang yang tidak memakainya daripada yang memakainya. Kami berhenti di jalan untuk membeli sayuran dan buah-buahan untuk hewan. Adik ipar saya yang berinteraksi dengan penjual lokal melalui jendela, dan sopir membantu kami mengumpulkan wortel dan pisang.

Mereka sudah siap untuk mengecek suhu tubuh kami melalui jendela, dan yang satunya lagi sedang menyemprotkan mini bus yang kami sewa dengan semprotan pembersih. Di gerbang utama, anggota staf lain menyambut kami, dan menghitung total kami. Itu adalah gerbang utama tempat kami membeli tiket masuk. Tiket hari kerja adalah Rp 195.000 untuk usia di atas 6 tahun, dan 170.000 untuk di bawah 5 tahun.

Kami mulai dengan Safari Tour dengan kendaraan kami sendiri. Butuh sekitar 45 menit di area itu. Kami memberi makan rusa, monyet, dan unta. Kami baru mengetahui fakta yang menyenangkan, bahwa monyet juga mengupas dan membuang kulit pisang sebelum mereka memakan pisang tersebut. Kami pikir mereka memakannya dengan kulitnya. Ha!
Usai Safari Tour, kami istirahat sejenak dan makan siang di mini bus. Ibu mertua saudara laki-laki saya memasak untuk kami, dan mereka membawakan masakan rumah, yang selalu saya suka, ditambah makanan Mcdonalds untuk dipilih semua orang. Saya pasti memilih masakan rumah. Kami kemudian berjalan melalui perbukitan untuk mengunjungi hewan lainnya. Itulah yang mereka sebut Safari Trek & Outbond.
Buaya air asin sedang tidur ketika kami mengunjungi mereka. Kami mengambil foto yang terbesar, panjangnya sekitar 3,3m! Ini bukanlah pengalaman kebun binatang yang pertama bagi Izzy, karena kami pernah ke kebun binatang di Bali, dan yang ada di Sydney, Australia. Tapi kurasa yang ini akan lebih berkesan bagi Izzy karena dia sekarang sudah lebih besar. Kami berjalan cukup banyak pada hari itu, sekitar 9.000 anak tangga. Izzy tampaknya juga menikmati jalan-jalan itu, meski kadang daddy dan saya menggendongnya. Itu juga semacam latihan bagi kami. Berjalan di atas bukit dengan berat hampir 12kg, plus tas. Ha!
Atraksi terakhir yang kami kunjungi adalah area Panda Raksasa. Kami naik bus khusus untuk pengunjung agar bisa sampai di puncak. Kami duduk sebentar, menikmati pemandangan sambil makan dan minum di restoran di gedung yang sama dengan tempat Panda.
Kami memutuskan untuk mengakhiri perjalanan kebun binatang kami, dan langsung menuju hotel untuk check-in. Saat itu sekitar jam 4 sore, untungnya hotel ini terletak hanya sekitar 15 menit dari Taman Safari Indonesia.

Saat kami memasuki lokasi hotel, kami diturunkan di lobi. Pelayan hotel membantu kami mengeluarkan barang-barang kami dari Bus Mini Elf sewaan. Adik ipar saya dan saya pergi ke resepsionis untuk mengurus pembayaran kamar hotel kami. Kamar kami dan 2 kamar mereka berada di lantai tertinggi yang sama (6). Kami menghabiskan hari kedua kami menikmati fasilitas hotel, termasuk taman bermain mereka dan kolam renang tanpa batas hotel.
Hari 3 | 11 Maret 2021
Hari terakhir kami di Bogor, kami check-out dari hotel sekitar pukul 12.15. Kami dijemput oleh Bigbird sewaan kami, dan itu membawa kami ke tujuan 'turis' terakhir kami. Kami mengunjungi restoran lokal terkenal untuk makan siang sebelum kembali ke Jakarta.
Cimory Riverside
Cimory adalah singkatan dari Cisarua Mountain Dairy. Tempat ini berlokasi di Cisarua, Bogor, dan mereka menjual banyak varian susu segar (saya sesekali membeli yogurt dan susunya di Jakarta!). Mereka sebenarnya memiliki 2 restoran keluarga berbeda yang menawarkan dua pemandangan berbeda: Cimory Mountain View, dan Cimory Riverside. Kami memutuskan untuk mengunjungi yang Riverside. Ini memiliki pasar dan restoran besar di tepi sungai Ciliwung. Baik pasar maupun restoran cukup sibuk ketika kami tiba. Untung saja kami (para pengunjung) masih harus mengecek suhu tubuh sebelum masuk ke dalam gedung. Saya juga memperhatikan bahwa mereka menempatkan dispenser pembersih tangan di lobi depan, di sebelah mesin temprature tubuh. Sepertinya banyak orang yang datang ke Bogor dari Jakarta untuk libur panjang. Setidaknya, semua orang di sana juga memakai masker. *semoga saja*
Saya pernah ke restoran itu sekali sebelumnya, namun itu sekitar 6 tahun yang lalu, dan itu untuk makan malam lebih awal, oleh karena itu saya tidak dapat benar-benar menikmati pemandangan saat itu. Kali ini kami menghabiskan waktu satu setengah jam di restoran untuk makan siang. Kami tidak terlalu lapar, karena kami sarapan di hotel dan memakan beberapa roti selama perjalanan ke restoran, tetapi kami semua tetap memesan makan siang.
Kami juga memesan susu segar Cimory yang terkenal dan es krim lokal mereka, es krim Moo Moo Gelato. Kalau tidak salah, minuman saya namanya Banana Fresh Milk with Taro Jelly, papa adalah Banana Fresh Milk, minuman Izzy adalah susu segar Chocolate favoritnya.
Daddy Bear sangat menikmati es krim mereka, dia bahkan membeli es krim Moo Moo Gelato dua kali. Itu enak!
Setelah kami menghabiskan makanan kami, Izzy, daddy dan saya langsung pergi ke BigBird. Saya hanya merasa tidak ingin duduk di restoran terlalu lama. Sibuk. Saat saya duduk, ipar perempuan saya mengirim pesan kepada saya, menanyakan apakah kami ingin bergabung dengan mereka atau tidak. Mereka berencana untuk memeriksa. Entahlah kalau Cimory Riverside juga punya kebun binatang mini dan akuarium. Ha! Daddy dan saya berdiskusi singkat, dan ya! Lebih baik kita memeriksanya.
Kami berjalan kembali ke dalam gedung dan menuruni tangga. Ada outlet, taman bermain, dan booth untuk membeli tiket masuk. Kami membayar Rp 35.000 per orang untuk Cimory Forest Walk (Mini Zoo and Forest Trip) & tiket masuk Monster Aquarium. Totalnya Rp 105.000 untuk tiga orang. Izzy juga harus membayar, karena dia cukup tinggi: dia telah mencapai ukuran 86cm di papan tulis. Kami dapat memeriksa akun instagram mereka untuk informasi lebih lanjut: @cimorypuncak.

Kami kemudian berjalan melintasi jembatan Cimory: Izzy sangat pemberani sehingga dia berjalan sendirian di jembatan ayun itu. Lalu saatnya Forest Walk, lalu Mini Zoo! Kami diizinkan untuk memelihara dan memberi makan hewan-hewan di sana.
Izzy sedikit takut pada awalnya, namun dia menjadi sangat berani sehingga dia memberi makan domba dan kambing dengan tangannya sendiri. Izzy tampak menikmati waktunya di sana. Waktu kami telah berakhir, kami berjalan kembali melalui sungai, dan naik beberapa anak tangga kembali ke gedung restoran.
Kami pergi ke outlet Cimory untuk menukar kupon gratis kami dengan 3 yogurt mini, yang kami terima ketika kami membeli tiket masuk. Saatnya kembali ke Jakarta kita yang indah. Sampai jumpa saat kami melihatmu, Bogor! Itu jelas merupakan pelarian yang manis bagi keluarga kami. Kami juga menikmati perjalanan kami di dalam BigBird, sangat nyaman!
