Back to Jakarta! Our Bali-Bajo holiday is over. *sad face* Yet, I’m so grateful that we are back safely, and our holiday went smooth and according to our plan. Thank God!
We went for holiday from June 15 to June 25. Our first stop was Bali! We stayed at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel in Nusa Dua for our first 3D2N, then we moved to Seminyak, and stayed at Double-Six Luxury Seminyak Hotel for 4D3N. We then flew to Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, on June 20 2021. We flew back to Bali yesterday, June 24, and stayed at the Intercontinental Bali Resort, Jimbaran for one night before flying back to Jakarta today.

We arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport around 5:30 AM, our flight was at 7:05 in the morning. It normally takes 2 hours from Jakarta to Bali.
Garuda Indonesia
In the waiting room of Terminal 3 - Soekarno Hatta International Airport. We were triplets, wearing the same color and the same brand of sneakers.
Our flight with Garuda Indonesia was right on time, and we arrived even faster than we expected.
We were advised not to eat in the airplane, unless it’s necessary.
We arrived in Bali at 10:10 AM (Bali Time). We went straight to meet the Airport transfer person in charge after collecting our suitcases. It did not take long for us to get all our belongings collected. Luckily the driver was ready, although we informed them that we will be meeting them at 11:20 AM. We then went to our first destination, the Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua. It was a huge and magnificent hotel. The staff were very friendly, as we expected from a 5-star hotel.
The Apurva Kempinski
The fresh towels, welcome drinks, and the sanitary kit from The Apurva Kempinski Bali.
The view from above was amazing! We loved it!
We were allowed to check-in early, however we had to wait for less than 30 minutes until our room was ready. We decided to check out their famous Koral Restaurant. They said we only could take pictures at the other spots in the restaurant than our own table during the day, between 11 AM until 3 PM.
There was quite a long queue for this, we had to wait for the sake of taking family pictures at this spot.
I was amazed that they had quite a lot of different fish in their aquarium. “Oh hello there, Stingray!”
Finally we got into our hotel room, Grand Deluxe Room King.
Everything was great! It was not even mid-day. We were lucky that we could check-in way early than we should have, as their check-in time is normally at 3 PM.
Check out our review about The Apurva Kempinski Bali in our different writing (click here).
We all got showered and ordered in-room dining for lunch.
I chose a grilled fish with yellow rice, Daddy and Izzy were sharing the spaghetti bolognese.
We relaxed for a bit, then decided to check out the hotel’s private beach. It was quite nice.
Izzy finally got the chance to play with her beach toys.
Mommy and Daddy tried the free paddle board activity from the hotel.
It was fun! We thought maybe we could try the kayak the next morning.
Koral Restaurant
We decided to have our first dinner in Bali at Koral Restaurant, which we had booked in advance. The restaurant was unique, with a massive aquarium wall next to every table. We really enjoyed the set fine-dining menu we had. The appetizers, the main courses, and the desserts. They were perfecto! The taste was as good as it looked. They also gave Izzy complimentary french fries and ice cream, plus an additional appetizer and dessert for us.
We took family pictures with a diver who fed the fish in the giant aquarium.
Mommy had Prawn & Lime as her main course.
Daddy went for the Lamb Duo as his main course.

I woke up so early, as Bali’s time is an hour ahead of Jakarta’s time. I guess I had a little bit of jet-lag. Izzy and Daddy also woke up not long after me.
The morning view from our hotel room. We could actually see the beach and the ocean from our balcony.
I decided to do a cardio workout, running around the hotel, and then continue with a little bit of HIIT.
I went back to our hotel room with Daddy and Izzy, as they came to find me when I was mid-workout. We all then had shower before going back out for breakfast.
We could smell the ocean mixed with the trees from our balcony.
Pala Restaurant
The restaurant was so busy, we chose to sit as far from the main areas as we could. At least, not too close to other groups of people.
Patiently *cough* impatiently *cough* waiting for her chocolate milk. Pala Restaurant has a lot of food selections, but Izzy always goes for cereal and milk.
Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon never fails. The sushi set always steals my eyes too.
Daddy had an English Breakfast, as per usual. We also always have some space for sweet breakfast, such as waffles with maple syrup.
It’s pool time! Apurva has many swimming pools. We chose to have our lunch out by the main pool.
We ordered a glass of chocolate milkshake for Izzy - yes, chocolate milk again. Ha!
We also ordered a capricciosa pizza to share. It was so tasty! It looks so small in this picture, but it was actually filling.
It was too hot for the ice creams and sorbets, which were melting so fast.
It’s Kayak time! We were glad that it’s one of the free facilities from the hotel.
There were camels at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, we just did not get the chance to check them out.
Izakaya by OKU We had dinner at a Japanese Restaurant at The Apurva Kempinski called Izakaya. They also had set menu selections, and a la carte. We ordered 2 set menu for Mommy and Daddy, and a la carte for Izzy.
Izzy was in a bad mood when we arrived. She refused to look at the camera. LOL.
Izzy Bear was finally in a better mood, and guess what? We ordered her favorite chocolate milk again.
Izzy always asks for chocolate milk, and they actually did not have it on their list of menu, but they made it for us.

Our second morning in Bali. I woke up at 4 AM again that day.
Daddy came up with an idea to take pictures of our hotel room flowers, this is one of the views we got from our bathroom window.
Our morning routine: it was the time to hit Apurva’s gym. It was quite a big and complete gym. I liked it!
Reef Beach Club
We were informed that we also can have breakfast from the other restaurant that also has its own pool, and it’s next to the beach, Reef Beach Club. On our second morning, we decided to have breakfast there, for the sake of changing scenery.
This was Daddy’s breakfast. He was still getting more food though.
This was Mommy’s breakfast. Meatballs for breakfast? Why not? It was so yummy, I could eat more.
Izzy was so excited to see the outdoor playground. They also have a playroom and it has classes and schedules. But we did not get the chance to check it.
We took some pictures around the hotel before checking out.
Family pictures aren’t easy with a 2 year old and a phone camera on timer.
We ordered a taxi online to take us to our next hotel in Seminyak. We booked this hotel because we had been curious, as we passed this hotel often back then, every time we walked around Seminyak area, and every time we visited the Double Six beach.
Check out our Youtube channel about our last day at The Apurva Kempinski:
Double Six Luxury Hotel Seminyak
We got 2 coupons for 2 welcome drinks that we could collect at the Lagoon Bar by the swimming pool. Daddy collected them for us, and brought them to our hotel room.
Welcome drinks and the view from our hotel room’s balcony.
We ordered in-room dining for our late lunch at Double Six Luxury Hotel.
Busy afternoon at Double Six beach, Seminyak.
On that day, we decided not to go anywhere far, so we only went down to check the beach for a bit. It was busy on that afternoon. We tried to keep our distance from other people.

Having our breakfast at the Lagoon Bar. Guess which one is Izzy’s? Yes, it’s cereal again!
Our plan on that day was to spend our day in the Ubud area. We visited the zoo, and we went to a coffee shop slash café that sells Luwak coffee and various teas, still in that area, which is called Alas Harum.
Youtube:
Bali Zoo
We booked the tickets in advance through an e-commerce application, and actually got a decent price with discount.
Trying to take family pictures at the zoo.

Alas Harum
This transparent flooring actually scared me, still trying to look okay in the picture though. Ha!
Chillin’ with Tegalalang rice field as the view.
The assorted tea and Luwak coffee. Loved it!
This ‘Bakso Bakar’ was sooo delish!
We paid additional 130,000 IDR per person to enter the photography facilities (bed swing), but Izzy didn’t have to pay, since she is still under age.
We chose the bed swing. It’s suited for family.
In the photo booth of a giant nest that is very popular.
Kiss you, my love!
It was a busy day, as we also stopped by to get our Antigen swab test done in the evening. We went to eat nearby the lab while waiting for our swab test result. We had our dinner at Bakso Boedjangan, where we forgot to take pictures, as we were really starving. Ha!

Mommy and Daddy’s favorite: French Toast.
Having breakfast at Lagoon Bar, Double Six Luxury Hotel Seminyak.
Playing on the Double Six beach.
Waiting for the wave.
We enjoyed our beach day out!
Swimming pool, beach, swimming pool, beach, repeat.
We were back to walk around the beach after showering.

Back to Bali for another 2 days, 1 night. We decided to do a one-day transit before flying back to Jakarta. The reason being is we prefer to fly with bigger airlines, especially during this pandemic. Garuda Indonesia does not really have direct flights from Jakarta to Labuan Bajo, and from Labuan Bajo to Jakarta anymore. I thought they did not have the flight at all, as the Garuda customer service informed us over the phone, but the driver we hired in Labuan Bajo gave us some information that actually Garuda still has a flight to and from Labuan Bajo, however it’s just one flight every week. That was why we couldn’t get the tickets when we tried to book flights.
We booked a hotel in the Jimbaran area that is not far from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The airport transfer that we booked on the spot took us to our last hotel for this holiday.
Intercontinental Bali Resort
The welcome drinks we got from this hotel were so fresh. They said it’s tea, from ‘bunga telang’, the purple flowers.
It took quite a while for us to check-in. They seemed really busy. The receptionist said that a group of people just checked out. The hotel was also under renovation, including the main lobby, therefore we did not stop in the main lobby when we came in, but the side one. We had to walk quite far, and passed by their restaurants to get to their temporary lobby, and from there, we could still hear the machine noises from the renovation. They also said that the main swimming pool is currently under renovation as well. We were fine, because they said they still have the beach club swimming pool that the people can use. They actually have quite a lot of pools, I noticed later on.
This hotel is so large, I couldn’t even remember where our room was. This picture only showed one angle of the hotel.
Our room looks quite dated, but still fancy. Just like the building from outside.
The view from our hotel room. We could see the beach on the right side.
Check out more information about the Intercontinental Bali Resort on our different writing (coming soon!).
We had lunch from the in-room dining. It was tasty!
We checked around the hotel, and found a hammock.
Jimbaran Beach
Watching the waves at Jimbaran Beach.
Swimming in Intercontinental Bali Resort’s Beach Club’s swimming pool.
Fri, June 25, 2021 Today is our last day in Bali. We had our breakfast at one of Intercontinental Bali Resort’s restaurants. We had to walk quite far to get to this restaurant, I mean, the furthest restaurant we have been to when staying at a hotel at least. LOL.
Bella Cucina
I actually had some noodles before all of these healthy foods. Ha!
Izzy’s breakfast from the menu: Smiley pancakes.
Look at this cute squirrel, he was waiting for food.
Izzy was so excited with the outdoor playground next to the restaurant. They actually have more than one outdoor playground.
We stopped by to check the beach after having breakfast.
It was the time to leave for the airport. We checked out early, around 9:20 AM.
We asked for the receptionist’s help to order us a Bluebird taxi to get to the airport. That was the end of our June 2021 holiday. Leaving back for Jakarta. Hope we can come back again soon! x
