Hi there!
We celebrated Eid with the family there; Bunda, Mommy’s sisters and brother, and also their spouses and kids, as well as Mommy’s aunty, and cousins. There were also our relatives and other family. Sadly, I wasn’t well due to my pregnancy sickness, so I couldn’t really enjoy all the delicious food, especially Bunda’s cooking.

Kolaka-Kendari
We had to leave for the airport after having our breakfast. We didn’t really get the chance to explore Kendari, although it was Daddy and Izzy’s first time to visit. Maybe next time we will stay longer.
We explored the new area in Losari beach that didn’t exist last time we visited. The 99 Domes Mosque stole our attention, it was beautifully designed by Ridwan Kamil, an architect as well as the Governor of West Java.
We also had some culinary trips, and enjoyed some signature food of Makassar before going back to Jakarta. We have briefly shared this on our Youtube channel below. Anyway, thanks for visiting our blog! Check out our vlog for more! ;)

Bunda (Mommy’s Mom) will retire soon (in April 2022) from her work as a civil servant. She currently works and lives in Kolaka, South East Sulawesi, and really wished for us to visit before she leaves the town. Eid is coming, and we thought it would be the perfect time for us to visit. It’s going to be Izzy’s first visit to Sulawesi. So the tickets are booked!
Jakarta to Kolaka
We flew with Batik Air from Terminal 2, Soekarno Hatta International Airport on April 28, 2022. It was a busy morning, as people were excited to finally go back to their hometowns for to the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr, and it was after a long pandemic. There is no direct flight from Jakarta to Kolaka though, so we transited in Makassar (South Sulawesi) first, before flying again to Pomala Kolaka (South East Sulawesi) with the only airline that operates to there, which is Wings Air. It took 2 hours and 25 minutes flight with Batik from Jakarta, and another 1 hour trip with Wings Air.

Kolaka-Kendari
Some of us (my sister, her husband and their daughter) travelled back to Makassar through Kolaka airport, while some of us travelled from Kolaka to Kendari first, before flying to Makassar or Jakarta. I’m honestly not a big fan of road trips, especially this route. Some of us, especially me, got nausea due to the winding roads with ravines and mountains on either side. It took around 4 hours to reach the capital city of South East Sulawesi, Kendari. We also stopped by Bunda’s friend’s house to rest for an hour or so, in Unaaha, North Kolaka, because we had some children and me, a pregnant woman as the passengers. We arrived in Kendari around 5:30 PM, we went straight to our hotel to check-in. We took some rest for a bit, and went out to visit my late Dad’s adopted parents’ house, where we met our Oma, aunty, uncle, cousins, and had our dinner there.

Kendari-Makassar
Daddy, Izzy and I chose to stay in Kendari only for one night and preferred to fly to Makassar on the next day. My brother, his wife and kids, my younger sister and our cousin stayed in Kendari for 2 nights and flew back to Jakarta right away. We met some of Mommy’s university friends in Makassar, and we also met our other family members. We stayed in a hotel there for 4 nights before flying back to Jakarta.
