6. Kita berdua menggunakan Celsius sebagai skala temperatur .
Alias skala centigrade. Ini merupakan bagian dari sistem Metric. Celsius adalah Sistem Internasional (SI) yang digunakan oleh semua negara kecuali Amerika Serikat, Bahamas, Belize, Pulau-Pulau Cayman dan Liberia.
Hello again!
Marriying a Briton that has a different culture to Indonesia sometimes contains challenges. However, that excites me. I’m excited to prove it to myself, that I can build a household despite obstacles. Obstacles build character, and nothing is too big for us to overcome if we have character and dedication.
Character and culture adjustment for me is super fun. Izzy’s Daddy and I have learned so many new things together, about each other, our cultures, and other people. There's one key thing to it all: “don’t stress yourself out!”, or as the Indonesian youth say “asikin aja!”.
Talking about the differences, there are countless, but there are a few similarities between Indonesia and United Kingdom (UK) that I found. Let’s talk about those similarities instead:
1. Driving on the left side of the road.
If you’ve ever been to London, you might notice the cars that were passing by on the road, they also drive on the left side of the road just like us in Indonesia. Unlike in America, where people drive on the right side of the road.
2. Sitting on the right position in the car while driving.
This is related to the road of course. Just like in Indonesia. British people also drive on the right side when they are sitting in the car.
3. We call it ‘Lift’.
It’s not the same with American that call it ‘Elevator’ instead. British people and Indonesians are together in this, we call it ‘Lift’.
4. The two-house system in parliament or legislative (Bicameral).
In Great Britain the two-house system is practiced by using House of Lords and House of Commons. Meanwhile in Indonesia, we have Majelis Pemusyawaratan Rakyat (MPR) that consists of two Houses, Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) dan Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD).
5. Adhering to the multiparty system (Politics).
Marked by the number of parties that compete in the elections, either in Indonesia or in the United Kingdom.
6. We both use Celsius as a temperature scale .
also known as the centigrade scale. It is part of Metric system. Celsius is the International System of Units (SI) which is used by all countries except the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, the Cayman Islands and Liberia.
7. The same method of writing the date.
If you pay attention, the way the British people writing the date is the same as us, which starts with the date, then month, and then year. In America, they start with the month first, followed by the date, and the year.
So far only 7 have been found by me. If you know the other similarities, you may share and inform me. Thank you for stopping by. :3
