Staycation #15 : Intercontinental Pondok Indah (Bilingual)

Love is in the air, it’s Valentine’s Day!

Cinta sedang mengudara, ini Hari Kasih Sayang!

As per usual, my stomach woke me up around 5 AM, took my sweet time sitting in the toilet while checking my social media and reading some news, and now I’m back in bed, because Izzy Bear started to cry a little, looking out for me. Both of us, plus Daddy Bear are not laying down on our usual bed, as we are having another staycation! During the pandemic, the only holiday that is safe and suitable for us is a staycation. We are currently staying at Intercontinental Pondok Indah for 2D1N. After being cancelled and postponed several times, we finally got to experience this hotel. The first impression when I entered the lobby? Definitely stunning!

Seperti biasa, perut saya membangunkan saya sekitar jam 5 pagi, menikmati waktu manis saya duduk di toilet sambil memeriksa media sosial saya dan membaca beberapa berita, dan sekarang saya kembali ke tempat tidur, karena Izzy Bear mulai menangis sedikit, mencari saya. Kami berdua, ditambah Daddy Bear tidak berbaring di tempat tidur kami yang biasa, karena kami sedang staycation lagi! Saat pandemi, satu-satunya liburan yang aman dan cocok untuk kami adalah staycation. Saat ini kami menginap di Intercontinental Pondok Indah selama 2D1N. Setelah dibatalkan dan ditunda beberapa kali, akhirnya kami dapat mencoba hotel ini. Kesan pertama saat saya memasuki lobby? Pastinya menakjubkan!

1. The Room:

Layout and Interior: 4.5/5 - 46 m²/ 495 ft². The carpet and the huge art work on the wall were the first two things that stole my attention as I entered our room. The other fittings around the room were of a high quality and finish, especially the desk. 

The View: 4/5 - We got a two birds in one shot view. We could see Pondok Indah Mall, the swimming pool from the 23rd floor, as well as the South Jakarta view without being blocked by skyscrapers. Our room was on the hook, therefore our window was quite wide. If it hadn’t been raining so much, we would have had a brilliant view of Puncak. Oh well!

1. Ruangan:

Tata ruang dan bagian dalamnya: 4.5/5 - 46 m²/ 495 ft². Karpet dan karya seni besar di dinding adalah dua hal pertama yang mencuri perhatian saya saat memasuki kamar kami. Perlengkapan lain di sekitar ruangan berkualitas dan bersentuhan akhir tinggi, terutama meja.

Pemandangannya: 4/5 - Kami mendapat dua burung dalam satu tembakan. Kami bisa melihat Pondok Indah Mall, kolam renang dari lantai 23, serta pemandangan Jakarta Selatan tanpa terhalang gedung pencakar langit. Kamar kami berada di ujung, oleh karena itu jendela kami cukup lebar. Jika tidak turun hujan terlalu deras, kami akan memiliki pemandangan Puncak yang cemerlang. Baiklah!

Bathroom: 4.5/5 - Very clean and neat. The big shower on the ceiling is never failed, the bathtub is next to the giant glass window that faced the TV in the bedroom. It made it easy for us to watch while take a bath. They also have a speaker on the ceiling that was connected to the TV outside. It was convenient.

Kamar Mandi: 4.5/5 - Sangat bersih dan rapi. Pancuran besar di langit-langit tidak pernah gagal, bak mandi berada di sebelah jendela kaca raksasa yang menghadap TV di kamar tidur. Itu memudahkan kami untuk menonton sambil berendam. Mereka juga memiliki speaker di langit-langit yang terhubung ke TV di luar. Hal yang nyaman.

Toiletries: 4/5 - The shampoo, shower gel, and the conditioner smell of lemon. Everything is good, however we noticed that they did not provide cotton buds and facial cotton.

Perlengkapan Mandi: 4/5 - Sampo, shower gel, dan pelembab berbau lemon. Semuanya baik-baik saja, namun kami perhatikan bahwa mereka tidak menyediakan tusuk telinga dan kapas wajah.

Room Service: 5/5 - Everything we ordered for our dinner was perfectly tasty. We enjoyed our in-room dining. They even gave us complimentary popcorn with a note as you can see in the picture below. That was cute! We also demolished the complimentary cake they gave us for our belated wedding anniversary. It was yummy!

Servis Kamar: 5/5 - Semua yang kami pesan untuk makan malam kami sangat lezat. Kami menikmati makan di kamar kami. Mereka bahkan memberi kami berondong jagung gratis dengan catatan seperti yang kamu lihat pada gambar di bawah. Itu lucu sekali! Kami juga menghabiskan keik gratis yang mereka berikan untuk ulang tahun pernikahan kami yang terlambat. Enak sekali!

2. Amenities:

Breakfast: 4/5 - We enjoyed their healthy juice of the day: beet juice, among many other ingredients. It was the first time I had beet juice, and surprisingly fresh and delish. I had their savory crepes that contained salmon, spinach, poached egg, sambal matah, etc. which I never had anywhere before. It was interesting and yum! The overall selection for breakfast was quite limited though, but all of a very good quality. 

Swimming Pool: 4/5 - It’s on the 8th floor of the hotel. The pool was quite big and long, but we did not experience the mini pool. We was there only for 15 minutes. We didn’t have enough time to swim, as they only had the available slot for us in the morning from 7 to 9 AM, and we went there half an hour after having breakfast. Be sure to get your pool reservation booked as soon as possible!

Gym: 5/5 - I love their gym! It’s big and I guess it was the best hotel gym I’ve been so far. They provided water bottles, clean towels, hand sanitizers and spray. The equipment was also very complete! It was all quite new too. The gym is on the 5th floor.

Outdoor Playground: 4/5 - We were supposed to book the outdoor playground at the same time as the swimming pool, as they are in the same area. We didn’t get the chance to experience it, because we did not know that they have one, and we also have to book for it, and it was fully booked. Information about the ammenities was not very forthcoming, and they actually gave us the wrong information about our booking at one point. 

2. Fasilitas:

Sarapan Pagi: 4/5 - Kami menikmati jus sehat mereka hari ini: jus bit, di antara banyak bahan lainnya. Ini adalah pertama kalinya saya minum jus bit, dan ternyata sangat segar dan enak. Saya makan crepes gurih yang berisi salmon, bayam, telur rebus, sambal matah, dll. yang belum pernah saya makan sebelumnya. Itu menarik dan enak! Pilihan keseluruhan untuk sarapan cukup terbatas, tetapi semua berkualitas sangat baik.

Kolam Renang: 4/5 - Berada di lantai 8 hotel. Kolam itu cukup besar dan panjang, tetapi kami tidak merasakan kolam mininya. Kami berada di sana hanya selama 15 menit. Kami tidak memiliki cukup waktu untuk berenang, karena mereka hanya memiliki slot yang tersedia untuk kami di pagi hari dari jam 7 hingga jam 9 pagi, dan kami pergi ke sana setengah jam setelah sarapan. Pastikan untuk memesan reservasi kolam kamu sesegera mungkin!

Gym: 5/5 - Saya suka sekali gym mereka! Besar dan saya rasa itu adalah gym hotel terbaik yang pernah saya kunjungi sejauh ini. Mereka menyediakan botol air, handuk bersih, pembersih tangan, dan semprotan. Perlengkapannya juga sangat lengkap! Semuanya juga cukup baru. Gym-nya berada di lantai 5.

Taman Bermain Luar Ruangan: 4/5 - Kami seharusnya memesan taman bermain luar ruangan pada waktu yang sama dengan kolam renang, karena mereka berada di area yang sama. Kami tidak mendapatkan kesempatan untuk bermain, karena kami tidak tahu bahwa mereka memilikinya, dan kami juga harus memesannya, dan sudah dipesan penuh. Informasi tentang fasilitas-fasilitas tidak terlalu terbuka, dan mereka benar-benar memberi kami informasi yang salah tentang pemesanan kami pada satu titik.

3. Location: 5/5 - The hotel is connected to Pondok Indah Mall. It’s located in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta. It is also on the crossroads of many main roads, but you can’t hear any of them. 

4. Overall service: 4.5/5 - The service was excellent. The security, receptionist, the room service guy were all very polite. They called to ensure that we did not have any complaint about our room, and at check out asked again! They are very concerned about your opinion as a guest. The only minor complaint we had was about our room aircon: it was set to auto on 24 degrees, and we couldn’t lower it. It somehow kept changing itself back to the exact temprature, and they had to send their maintanance up to set it to the lowest setting, since the room was not cold enough for us. Izzy was sweating like a beast.

5. Value: 4.5/5 - For everything we got, compared to what we paid, I guess that was undoubtedly worth it!

3. Lokasi: 5/5 - Hotel ini terhubung dengan Pondok Indah Mall. Letaknya di Pondok Indah, Jakarta Selatan. Itu juga di persimpangan jalan dari banyak jalan-jalan utama, tetapi kamu tidak dapat mendengarnya.

4. Servis Secara Keseluruhan:  4.5/5 - Pelayanannya luar biasa. Sekuriti, resepsionis, petugas room service semuanya sangat sopan. Mereka menelepon untuk memastikan bahwa kami tidak memiliki keluhan tentang kamar kami, dan saat check out bertanya lagi! Mereka sangat memperhatikan opini kamu sebagai tamu. Satu-satunya keluhan kecil yang kami miliki adalah tentang AC kamar kami: AC tersetel ke otomatis pada 24 derajat, dan kami tidak dapat menurunkannya. Entah bagaimana itu terus berubah kembali ke suhu yang tepat tadi, dan mereka harus mengirim bagian maintenance mereka untuk mengaturnya ke pengaturan terendah, karena ruangan tidak cukup dingin untuk kami. Izzy berkeringat seperti ‘makhluk buas’.

5. Harga: 4.5/5 - Untuk semua yang kami dapatkan, dibandingkan dengan apa yang kami bayarkan, saya rasa itu tidak diragukan lagi sepadan!

We had a different and enjoyable experience, since we have never really had a staycation around that area. It was good because the hotel still feels new and very clean. That was what I liked the most. We will see you again soon on our next staycation with Izzy Bear. ;) x

Kami memiliki pengalaman yang berbeda dan menyenangkan, karena kami belum pernah benar-benar menginap di sekitar area itu. Bagusnya karena hotel masih terasa baru dan sangat bersih. Hal itulah yang paling saya sukai. Sampai jumpa lagi di staycation berikutnya bersama Izzy Bear. ;) x
