Izzy, Mommy, and Daddy Bear have staycations as our mini holiday in and around Jakarta every now and then, in 4 and 5 star hotels. After our stay, we write a review based on our experience in the hotel.
We use the following scoring system for each of the categories we review:
0 - Apocalyptically bad (this is rare)1 - Very poor
2 - Poor
3 - Average
4 - Good
5 - Excellent
Sometimes the scores fall between. For example, 4.5: This means it is better than good, but not quite excellent.
Each of our reviews is based on the following categories:
The Room
Layout: This is a combination of room size, room comfort, quality of the furniture, organization of the furniture, and all round comfort.View: Whether the view from the room is nice or not. It's quite simple really - is it an eyesore, or not?
Bathroom: This is based on quality of facilities (Bath, Shower, Sink, Toilet etc.), the layout (whether it is cramped or spacious), and the towels (clean, dirty, comfy etc.).
Toiletries: Not meaning to sound cheap, but the quality of the soaps, shampoos, and other cleaning equipment the hotel provides (even the packaging), and whether it is fit for purpose, or if it's better to bring your own.
Room Service: This is literally just the quality of the menu, not the service of the people. It gauges value for money, taste, and portion.
Amenities
Swimming Pool: How big and deep the pool is, as well as the design and atmosphere in and around it. Also, this takes into account how busy it is.
Breakfast: We always try to book a breakfast room, as it makes everything easier in the mornings. This is based on the variety of food provided, the quality of the food, and the arrangement of the dining area.
Sometimes we provide a score for other amenities, such as the gym, or the garden. Though this does depend on what the hotel offers, and what we choose to experience.

Location
This one is largely self-explanatory: is it in a good location? We gauge "good" on how close it is to major landmarks, malls, or other areas of interest in and around Jakarta. We also look at accessibility: is the hotel on a major artery, down a side-street, or along a bumpy gravel track? Is traffic going to be an issue? Or pollution? These are what we consider.
Overall Service
This is where the hotel staff come under our scope, looking at quality of service, professionalism, communication, and even friendliness. This impacts the whole stay, and one miser can ruin a perfect staycation!
Value
As a conclusion or sorts, we judge the overall value of the stay, and whether we feel we got value for money. The expectation for all is when you pay more, you expect more, but that's not always the case, and we hope to provide that little insight.
We hope that our staycation reviews can be of use to visitors to Jakarta, or even fellow locals or residents who also feel like having a staycation.

Layanan Kamar: Ini benar-benar hanya kualitas menu, bukan layanan orang-orang. Mengukur nilai uang, rasa, dan porsi.
Fasilitas
